    Position Summary

    The Client Liaison – Disability & Leave Operations is responsible for working on a variety of client-centric projects and client-specific disability benefit workflows. This role will have the ability to perform root cause research and analysis to manage multiple inquires and recommended solutions for their assigned clients. This team member will be required to lead change, use strategic thinking, and collaborate with other departments to ensure all issues are resolved for their client.


    • As needed, travel to participate as a business SME for finalist meetings, client service issue recovery meetings or stewardship meetings
    • Communicates to operations team any custom workflows agreed upon during implementation or following effective date of plan (changes)
    • Assigned client base to act as intermediary for operations and the clients on any escalations related to service issues on disability or leave claims
    • Research and answer questions or issues received in their assigned client’s custom inbox(es).
    • Provide ad hoc training, in conjunction with Training Specialist, as needed for any specialized customer workflows or changes
    • Provide support as needed for ad hoc audits supplementing QA and Team Manager audits to spot check for trends
    • As needed, work with AE, Account Specialist and BSA roles on report, workflow, correspondence or email needs for assigned clients.
    • Partner with Implementation Manager during implementations to ensure all operational knowledge is brought back to the Team Managers and Training Specialist in advance of go live date of assigned clients
    • Perform other projects as needed
    • Liaison for both employers and members to help them understand the process of disability and what may be needed from them throughout the course of the claim.
    • As needed, presents at any employer conferences each year to provide updates and an overview of the disability and leave programs
    • Jointly responsible for business retention with assigned Clients in conjunction with internal peers.  


    • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    • 2-5 years’ experience managing or handling Disability or Leave claims operationally
    • Experience working with mid to national size clients disability/leave programs in a client-facing position.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills; ability to work with people at all levels of an organization.
    • Good time management abilities.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
    • Good organization and ability to reprioritize activities as needed.
