    Position Summary

     

     

    Enhances customer satisfaction and increases sales and claims assignment opportunities through establishment of customer relationships. Performs account management activities in support of the Service Region business development and client retention objectives.  

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Assists Managing Director and appropriate National or Regional Account Executive in managing existing accounts in assigned geographic area;
    • Establishes relationships with client Regional Offices in order to pull national Preferred Vendor program business through to the regional level;
    • Calls on Regional and Local Offices of major insurance companies independently or in conjunction with Managing Director/SVP National Claim Operations/National Account Executives;
    • Prospects for new regional business with potential clients such as municipalities or other government entities, guaranty funds, MGAs, state, regional and mutual insurance carriers;
    • Reports potential for opportunity to the Managing Director/ SVP National Claim Operations/National Sales Manager;
    • Maintains scheduled telephone and/or personal contacts with client regional offices;
    • Serves as a liaison between clients and branch offices for quality, timeliness or other claims handling issues; follows up with client to ensure claims issues have been corrected;
    • Provides a strong market presence by actively participating in local claims associations and regional conferences;
    • Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times; and participates in special projects or perform duties in other areas as requested.
    • Regularly interacts with regional claims personnel of national insurers; occasionally interacts with Managing General Agents, risk management personnel in government entities, claims personnel of state and regional carriers, Crawford Managing Directors and sales personnel; and most contacts involve exchange of information and persuasion.

     

    Requirements

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in marketing.
    • One year casualty, property or workers’ compensation claims handling experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Prior sales experience preferred.
    • Ability to operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid, operational driver's license
    • Understanding of insurance terminology, practices and the claims handling process;
    • Strong verbal communication skills;
    • Ability to be persuasive;
    • Good time management skills and ability to work well independently;
    • Strong commitment to client satisfaction; and
    • Strong understanding of the sales and marketing process.
    • Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services
