    Position Summary

     

     

    Supports the international income tax planning, compliance, provision, and audit defense functions. The International Tax Senior Associate will be responsible supporting the international tax accounting function at Crawford in a preparation role.  Note:  this position does not have any direct support roles underneath it.

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • The International Tax Senior Associate will be responsible for the following task including, but not limited to:
      • On a quarterly basis prepares:
        • International tax rate analyses (including monitoring for legislative developments internationally);
        • Foreign tax credit calculation;
        • Tier one permanent items estimates;
        • BNA model for credit utilization (in Q2 and Q4);
        • Memo verbiage for international issues arising in the quarter;
        • Discrete tax calculations; and
        • FIN 48 analyses for international tax positions.
      • On an annual basis prepares the following:
        • APB 23 documentation and support;
        • International valuation allowance analysis;
        • IRC 956, 987, and 988 support;
        • Transfer pricing documentation;
        • International scoping analysis (in Q2);
        • Tier one return to provision analyses including proof of deferred taxes;
        • Tier one annual provision package review;
        • Information for Forms 5471, 1118, 8802 and 8858 and coordinates filings with external advisors; and
        • Memos related to international tax issues (e.g., foreign tax credit utilization, APB 23).
      • On an as needed basis:
        • Researches international tax issues;
        • Assist with local country audits;
        • Assist with permanent establishment issues;
        • Assist with withholding tax inquiries/issues;
        • Assist with transfer pricing issues;
        • Calculate earnings and profits and tax pools;
        • Maintain intercompany loan documentation;
        • Coordinates issues with international tax compliance with external advisors;
        • Assists with tax due diligence;
        • Assists with questions from external auditors; and
        • Assists with tax planning and other ad hoc tax projects.
    • Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct.

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, Master of Tax CPA required
    • Minimum 1.5 years’ corporate tax experience, preferably Big 4 public accounting
    • Strong tax technical skills and base of accounting skills
    • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication, people, project management and organizational skills
    • OneSource Tax Provision and Income Tax experience, preferred
    • BNA Corporate Tax Analyzer experience, preferred
    • Includes some levels of and international travel on as needed basis
    • CPA required and certification should be maintained via ongoing CPE
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams
    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, effectively prioritize, manage others, and meet deadlines
    • Highly motivated, creative, articulate, results oriented
    • Ability to grow and change with the organization
    • Flexible and able to operate in fast paced, changing environment
    • Ability to work in an organized, detailed manner under tight deadlines
    • Ability to grasp complex issues quickly
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • Ability to research, read and interpret tax laws, regulations and rulings required
