    Position Summary

     

    Performs internal reviews of complex operational, financial, compliance, and IT processes and audits internal controls in various areas of the organization. Identifies exceptions to procedures and standards, and develops specific solutions or recommendations.  Recommends process improvements and revenue enhancements where applicable.  May serve as the project leader on standard audits and review the work of other audit project contributors. 

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Under direction of a senior team member, participates on large complex audit engagements, and may lead more routine engagements.
    • Performs tests an analyses, gathers audit evidence, evaluates results, and develops conclustion about the adequacy of internal controls and the effectiveness of business processes. Documents the work performed and conclusions according to departmental requirements.
    • Provides operational insight and makes process improvement recommendations  on audit engagements.
    • Ability to work with and analyze data in multiple formats.
    • May work independently or with the assistance of others to perform risk assessments of Company’s processes for the purposes of audit scoping.
    • Contributes to departmental planning activities.
    • Reviews work of team members/project contributors assigned to projects s/he is leading for sufficiency of approach, accuracy and completeness.
    • Prepares accurate, concise, professional written communications to be shared with senior management, clients, and/or the Audit Committee.
    • Leads or facilitates meetings with Company management to discuss audit findings with management.
    • Performs other job responsibilities and duties as assigned by Management.

     

    Requirements

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is required.  Advanced degree a plus.
    • Three to seven years of insurance operations,  auditing, accounting, IT or related business experience
    • 1-3 years claims experience in operations/ adjusting preferred
    • Understanding of financial and accounting concepts necessary
    • Experience with claims systems, spreadsheets, and project management tools preferred
    • Adjuster certifications a plus
    • Accounting or Audit certifications a plus
    • Certification as a CPA or CIA preferred.
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Effectively communicates with peers and Management, both verbally and written.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships throughout the Company
    • Pursues training in internal auditing and related business areas
    • Willingness to travel and learn about Crawford Global operations
    • Curious, learning mindset
