Position Summary

The technical engineer should be able to learn new languages and techniques, problem-solve, and build new tools to support Broadspire’s management, Analytics team and clients with a focus on improving client outcomes, strengthening client relationships, improving visibility for claim managers and improving claim quality and processes.


  • Designs new and differentiated solutions we can offer to our clients, tests solutions/programs for benefits, and develops material to explain and promote solutions.
  • Identifies new diagnostics and the tools to display those diagnostics.
  • Develops efficiencies, automation, and new tools.
  • Data exploration and analysis, including statistical analysis
  • Supports the database infrastructure that underlies analytical tools.
  • Develops new ways (i.e. bursting, web-based) to distribute analytical deliverables.
  • Designs web-based analytical platform.
  • Performs data manipulation and ETL and maintains data pipelines to supply all our deliverables and products
  • Develops conclusions and recommendations based on analysis. Participates in the preparation and presentation of results.



  • Bachelors degree in Science, Math, Economics, Finance, Business, Risk Management or related field. Looking for education in both quantitative and qualitative areas, critical thinking, and communication.
  • 1-3 of experience developing and updating statistical models. Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Drivers License.
  • Willingness to travel an average of 1 night per month.
  • Web programming in an MVC framework is a strong plus.
  • Enterprise application development (multiple tiers, distributed architecture, object relational mapping layers, unit testing frameworks) a strong plus.
  • Experience with statistics and predictive modeling is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with source control (GIT preferred) is a plus.
  • Experience in agile development is a plus.
  • Powershell or equivalent scripting experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, ORACLE or other relational database programs
  • Capable of quickly learning new tools as needed and training others in the use of those tools
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic, java, or other programming languages
  • Capable of quickly learning new tools
  • Understanding of the scientific method

  • Focused on solutions: employee is aware of roadblocks, but is continually applying creativity and a comprehensive approach to overcome road blocks.
  • Highly organized thinking, writing and presenting so that key points are delivered powerfully and clearly to the right audience
  • Capable of making arguments to unknown audiences (such as a CFO that is not at a meeting, but might view material or receive a second hand presentation from another party.
